3 Tip To Start Your Fitness & Wellness Journey 2023
Be Consistent & Start Small 20 minutes of basic exercises like planks /squats /push-ups CONSISTENTLY SPREAD OUT 3x a week and slowly increasing frequency and duration, will build a stronger habit than 2 hours of complex workouts 7 days a week. This will burn you out and create such a huge task you risk avoidance after a week or so of going “hard or going home" (we don't do burn outs and relapses ova here) Clean Meals & Meal Time Your food is your fuel /medicine! Single ingredient foods from the ground, combined with high quality meats (if you prefer) will balance your hormones giving you the boost of energy and mood/mindset to keep going. Packaged foods with a long list of ingredients you can’t pronounce,(we like real food not science experiments) lack nutrients, especially micros which govern your hormones and cellular function. Prepare or invest in balanced meals with fiber, good fats and proteins and eat ontime! Fasting in the morning or eating a big breakfast may work for you. Whatever you chose, be consistent and observe the results physically and emotionally/energetically. If it’s not working switch up your meal timing and /or type. Going long hours without eating and compensating with energy drinks /coffee spike your cortisol (stress hormone) cuing your body to hold onto more body fat as a defense mechanism. Healthy Social Life Be aware of who is supportive of your lifestyle/ fitness goals and who can be distracting from these goals. ITS OK TO LET GO and enjoy a cheat meal or a late night out with fun friends /family. Dont be so hard on yourself and allow 10-20% cheat meals around social gatherings and make it a point to eat clean 80%-90% the rest of the time. Extensive global studies show socializing, sharing meals, having meaningful relationships and conversations prolong a long healthy life with dramatically low percentages of dementia, heart disease and many other "common" diseases. Actively seek and engage new friendships in the gym or healthy food spots so you don’t isolate yourself during your fitness/wellness journey.
